Dolly

Author // Kylee Marie

Last week we attended the screening of Dolly, a short film from Blacksmith Productions that we worked on last fall. Lola starred in the film, Ryan worked his cinematography magic, and I was on set as the child wrangler/stunt coordinator/Lola’s proud mom, all at once!

The film was written and directed by Marcy Grams, who also plays the role of a mother, victim to an abusive partner. The goal of the film is to raise awareness about domestic abuse, and to encourage women in violent relationships to make a change, not only for themselves, but for their children.

We loved this project -- it's a cause we believe in, and an amazing short film. Major props to Jansel Hutton for Dolly's hair and make-up -- Savanah is a very convincing life-sized doll!

The film will screen at the WildSound Short Feedback Film Festival in Toronto, Canada, and the Sabaoth International Film Festival in Milano, Italy.

Here’s a :30 second teaser for the short film.
